So much for fancy handsets, let’s shift our focus to the little league. Nokia very recently announced the Nokia 1508 candy-bar style phone, a rather basic handset that makes use of CDMA network technology.
The pretty straightforward features and functionalities of the Nokia 1508 include easy keypad dialing, an integrated FM radio, and a color LCD display. The unit comes in red, navy blue and black. It sports a 2.5mm-sized headset jack and charges through a micro USB port. Beneath the surface, this modest handset operates on the Series 40 user interface with support for BREW applications.
Although its price is yet to be announced, the Nokia 1508 is expected to score big among emerging countries where shelling out cash for high-end gizmos is never practical.
