Although the Samsung G600 was released seven months earlier than the Samsung J700, the G600 surpasses the J700 easily. Both operate on a 2G network but the Samsung G600 utilizes a quad-band network and can be used in four networks, including GSM 850/900/1800/1900, which means this mobile phone can be used anywhere in the world.

The Samsung J700 works with a tri-band network and only utilizes the GSM 850/900/1800 networks, which will only be a problem if traveling to destinations including North America and some parts of South America.

It's not very hard to access and view these features on the mobile phone's screen display as the Samsung J700 has a 2inch 65k color display and a maximum resolution of 128x160 pixels. The Samsung G600, however, has a larger screen, a 2.2 inch 16m color display, which is perfect for viewing the documents, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files, on the Document Viewer.

Both the J700 and G600 have standard rechargeable lithium ion batteries that, when fully charged, can be used for calls for about 2.5 hours for the J700 and 3.5 hours for the G600. Both mobile phones also make use of standard messaging systems, including SMS, MMS, which can be used to keep in touch with family and friends and can even be used to share photos and audio/video clips to family, friends and even colleagues and clients.

Both mobile phones will keep you entertained and organized. The usual features that help in organization are present, including an alarm clock, calculator, calendar and clock. Both the Samsung G600 and J700 also include an FM radio and music player, which plays almost all types of music files, except for the WMA file which only the G600 supports.

The FM radio can be accessed on these phones through the connecting headset. Stay connected and browse the Internet or check important email through its GPRS technology and WAP browsers. And transfer files through Bluetooth® wireless connectivity or through a USB cable connected to another PC computer. Don't worry about running out of memory.

The Samsung J700 has around 10MB of internal memory while the Samsung G600 has 55MB of internal memory. If that's not enough, there's also a memory card option, which can use an expandable memory of 1GB or 2GB. This expandable memory is also perfect for photo storage when the internal camera is used.

The Samsung J700 has a 1.3 megapixel camera that can be used for taking photos and recording videos. It's not much but it does have a resolution of 1280x960 pixels. The Samsung G600, however, has a better camera at 5 megapixels and a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels.

The G600's camera also operates with two camera modes; the panoramic mode to capture wide shots of landscapes or long objects and the macro mode to capture close-up shots of people, places and things. It also has an auto focus and LED flash feature. Both have built-in photo editor which can be used to edit photos taken. Just slide up the phone and turn it around to see the camera at the back.

The Samsung J700 is perfect for the budget-conscious mobile phone users who want a no frills phone but with a little extra features. And the Samsung G600 is perfect for those who have the extra cash or those who need a substitute for their office, which has everything.
